  • Final post

    gotpurpose

Please visit http://raychung22.com/blog/ as I will no longer update this blog. But, for a final post, I want to thank two golden-hearted MKs that made it possible -- Trevor and Ben.

Thank you, Tech-Savvy golden-hearted Missionary Kids (MK).
They said in Chinese, 旧不去,新不来, if the old does not go, the new will not come. Easier said than done but at the expense of personal embarrassment, I want to thank two amazing guys that made the launching of a new blog space. Trevor, thank you for your kindness and non-hesitancy to help me transfer archive post from xanga over to wordpress. Ben, thanks for your ever ready to help spirit and the hours that you've logged in making this possible. To the two tech-savvy golden hearted missionary kids, Trevor and Ben, terima kasih!

Salam bahagia, selamat sejahtera and welcome to my new pad!

Familiarity breeds contempt, thankfulness breeds contentment.

Thank you, sister Rachel for the reminder on contentment.
I almost broke out in tears myself when I read my sister's post today.

"my heart broke when i read it [card from mom]... i realise.. it takes onli a little for us to be contented with life... i duno why i'm crying now... it's juz i suddenly feel how much my mom loves me..."

  • Change Me (改變自己)

    Free pair of metal chopsticks.

That's what you'll get when you purchase a copy of Wang Leehom's latest album, Change Me (改變自己).

Back in the days, if I were to tell my recording company I wanted to do an album based on environmental issues, they would have definitely rejected the idea. But now due to the support of media I would like this opportunity to push this issue further and pass them onto everyone, especially the younger generation.

Although I don't have the power to change major issues such as the usage of oil by major companies, I would like to remind everyone that you can start small. Although it may be a small change, it will have great effects. This is the message I am trying to pass on in Change Me (改變自己).

Besides making music, Leehom is promoting the issue of global warming and eco-awareness. The packaging of the CD uses recycled paper and contains no plastic. Be sure to check out this video (Chinese Version) or this (English Version).

  • Communication 101

When I was in college many years ago, a certain Mrs. S reminded me to call my mom.

"Ray, you need to call you mom. She wants to know everything. What you eat today? Where did you go? What time you woke up?"

"Really? But all that seems so normal and boring!"

She smiled and said, "Normal to you, maybe. But to a mother, it's anything but normal. We [mothers] like to hear anything and everything from our babies."

They say a picture worth a thousand words. Well, here's nine thousand.
